Essex Veterinary Physiotherapy Services is run by fully qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, Gemma Anthony BSc PGDip NAVP.
Having always held a passion for animals, Gemma chose to study a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Writtle University College in 2012. During this time, she gained a wealth of knowledge in animal behaviour, management, nutrition, genetics and anatomy and physiology. This placed her in good stead to enroll on the MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Writtle University College in 2016, from which she recently achieved her postgraduate diploma qualification and is currently completing her dissertation to achieve her full Masters degree qualification. Through completing this course, Gemma has gained the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to safely and effectively provide veterinary physiotherapy horses, dogs and cats, whatever their function. She has also obtained membership of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists.
Gemma is also able to draw upon several years of experience with horses and dogs when treating patients, having been actively involved in the equestrian industry for 15 years, and having trained and competed up to the top level in dog agility with her 5 year old sprocker spaniel, Rue. At present, she also owns two horses; a 20 year old ISH X gelding called Jacko, and a 4 year old TB X gelding called Obie. She has competed in showjumping with Jacko in the past, but now he leads a quieter ridden life whilst Gemma backs and trains Obie.
